Designing your own website
There are hundreds of books devoted to Website design. The trick
is finding one that provides useful and easy-to-understand information.
A good place to start is with the For Dummies series of books: HTML
4 for Dummies by Ed Tittel, Natanya Pitts, Mike Wooldridge, and
Chelsea Valentine, and Creating Web Pages for Dummies by Bud E.
Smith and Arthur Bebak (both from IDG Books Worldwide, $24.99).
Also check out JavaScript Bible (IDG Books Worldwide, $49.99) by
Danny Goodman and Brendan Eich, and Thinking in Java, by Bruce Eckel
(Prentice Hall Computer Books, $44.99).
Another option is to go online, For a quick and free lesson, check
out pagetutor.com (www.page tutor.com), which offers basic HTML
tutorials for free. Membership gives you access to a wider array
of the site's features and more advanced lessons. And check out
the 24-hour HTML Cafe (www.24hour htmlcafe.com), the Web companion
to Sams Teach Yourself HTML 4 in 24 Hours, 4th Edition, by Dick
Oliver (MacMillan Computer Publications, $19.99).
If you have time in between, stop by Web Pages That Suck.com (www.webpagesthatsuck.com),
